April 21, 2000: ABB today, announced the launch of its 400 kV range of power transformers in India. The 400kV ‘TrafoStar’ transformers will be manufactured at ABB’s recently commissioned transformer facility at Maneja, Vadodara and will employ the latest, state of the art design platforms used by ABB transformers worldwide.
ABB commissioned its modern transformer facility at Maneja, Vadodara in 1999. The unit has already supplied power transformers upto 220kV/100 MVA to various electric utilities. They have also delivered traction transformers to Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, West Bengal. With the launch of the 400kV transformer operations ABB will now be able to cater to the complete needs of the high-end transformer market in India.
