CIRT is the technical organ for Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU) and a Centre of Excellence engaged in testing of vehicle components, training, research and consultancy studies in the road transport field.
The post carries the pay scale of Rs. 18400-500-22400 and allowances/ perks as per ASRTU rules which are generally in line with Central Government rules. Earmarked accommodation in campus is also provided.
ASRTU is looking for a person who can lead the institute to greater heights in its field of activities and expand its operations into new related fields, Essential qualifications are:
a) Post-graduate in any field. Ph.D. in relevant field or higher education in management would
be desirable.
b) Minimum 15 years of administrative and managerial experience of a responsible position; at least 5 years of which in the field of road transport in the capacity of Head of Department or higher.
Or at least 15 years experience in a reputed transport research/ training institute/organisation, at least 5 years of which in the capacity of Head of Department/Institution.
c) Age between 45 to 55 years as on 6th July 2007.
The post would be filled up either by a fixed-term contract or by deputation of a suitable officer from Governments/Government bodies. The appointment will be for a period of three years extendable by two years or till the attainment of age of 58 years whichever is earlier.
