Rival grain operators AWB and ABB Grain are in merger talks with an eye to creating a $2.3 billion giant dominating the nation's agriculture export markets. AWB said its discussions with ABB Grain were ongoing and that any deal still was subject to regulatory approval and due diligence. In midday trade, ABB shares were up 23.3pc at $8.01, while AWB had risen 10.3pc to $3.52.
