ABB’s unique UniGear ZS1 range of metal-clad, arc-proof, switchboards, designed to meet the detailed specifications of individual local markets as well as to the demand of global customers for standardisation, is now available for UK applications. The new modular platform means that ABB has been able to reduce the number of switchgear production lines from 47 to just nine. And the number of switchgear parts has been cut by almost 95 percent to ensure consistent quality and shorter lead times.
The new UniGear ZS1 switchgear is based on ABB’s market-leading ZS1 family, which was first launched in 1986. ABB assembled a
UniGear type ZVC motor control is designed to be directly coupled to UniGear Type ZS1, with the possibility of extension on both sides of a switchboard. Each unit is only 325mm wide with a withdrawable single high, floor roll out contactor/fuse assembly truck. The starters are equipped with vacuum interrupters with a rating of up to 7.2kA and 400A and option for up to two fuses in parallel for each phase.
The high busbar short circuit capability of 50kA makes this solution well suited for high power system requirements.
