Poompuhar Shipping Corporation Limited a Public Sector Undertaking of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu, totally dedicated to coastal movement of coal on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board for its Thermal Power
Stations through a fleet of its own and chartered vessels and with a turnover exceeding Rs.470.00 Crores requires the following posts : -
1. General Manager (Technical) : one Post
Scale of Pay: Rs.16,400 - 450 - 20,000 - 500 - 23,000 Plus allowances
as per rules.
Qualification & Experience:
Certificate of Competency as Marine Engineer Class I (Motor) (FG)
issued by the DGS, Govt. of India-fa) Total of Ten years experience out of which five years as Chief Engineer of Craned Bulk carrier.
(b) Five years related shore experience at Managerial level in ship building, repair, Survey and Shipping Companies.
Experience in evaluation of Ships and procedures for ship acquisition
is preferable.
Age/Community : 45 Years (Relaxable) / Open competition.
Place of duty : Head Office, Chennai.
General Manager (OPS): One Post
Scale_of_Pay_: Rs.16,400 - 450 - 20,000 - 500 - 23,000 Plus allowances as per rules.
Qualification & Experience:
Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ship issued by DG Shipping, Govt. of India. Ten years experience out of which five years of command of large size GC/BC vessels.
About five years experience in Commercial Chartering Department in a ship-owning company and familiar with chartering negotiation, checking disbursement accounts, preparing voyage estimates, matters of arbitration with charterers-, insurance claims etc. and iv) Should have thorough knowledge of Mercantile Marine Operations Management and control of floating crew; statutory requirements; International marine conventions, chartering operations and Ship Management.
